For nearly three years, the courts have been dealing with a lawsuit between the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) and the firm Rencar which, thanks to its dubious connections in the 1990s, won an extremely lucrative contract for an incredible 34 years. DPP has spent millions of Czech crowns a year to cover the costs related to the dispute and has allegedly lost hundreds of millions of Czech crowns over the duration of the contract. The partnership with Rencar has proven to be extremely expensive for Prague’s largest municipal company.
