Prague Public Transit Company wants to triple revenue from advertising on its property

The long-discussed contract between the Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) and Rencar, a subsidiary of JCDecaux, concluded in the 1990s is costing DPP and Prague citizens hundreds of millions of Czech crowns. According to legal analyzes, Rencar has been renting DPP property under considerably non-standard conditions for 20 years, with DPP losing hundreds of millions of crowns over the duration of the contract. The potential revenue from the advertising space could bring the city’s transit company up to CZK 140 million annually but it is getting just CZK 50 million a year from Rencar.
