Some of Prague’s city districts have concluded or are planning to enter into agreements with JCDecaux for the lease of land under public transport sheds, which the company owns in the metropolis. This follows from the statements of Jiří Chvojka, a spokesman for the town halls and the company’s media representative. JCDecaux has a contract with the municipality, which will expire at the end of June and the city does not plan to extend it. Under the 1994 agreement, the company operates about 900 shelters, pays the municipality a rent for this and can sell advertising in exchange. The past management of the city described the contract as unfavorable, which the company rejected. The current representation of the city has decided to replace the furniture with its own.
