The French advertising group JCDecaux, through its subsidiary Rencar, earned hundreds of millions of crowns a year thanks to a contract from the 1990s with the transport company hl. of the City of Prague (DPP). However, in 2019 the courts declared it invalid. Last year, Rencar fell into a significant loss. Its result after tax was -29.2 million crowns. The company’s revenues fell sharply. The year-on-year decline was as much as 67%. However, according to Nielsen Admosphere, the outdoor advertising market fell “only” by 19%. Another blow to Rencar is the current decision of the District Court for Prague 9. It rejected another lawsuit filed by Rencar, which sought the determination of a valid relationship with DPP.
